Screw loose

Headed out for another ride tonight around sunset and hit up some gravel north of town. About the time I got to Ada Haden it was completely dark and I could even see some snow in my light beam....what the hell?? The 30+ MPH wind gusts didn't help the situation either. I hit up some singletrack on the way back home to dodge the wind and try to stay a bit warmer. Most of my cold weather gear is packed away in a box back home so I have to ride with what I've got in my trunk.

Also, I may have a screw loose upstairs, but I ran across this today and would love to give it a whirl. I had heard about the Grand Loop race before, but never saw any literature on it. Three to four days of solo suffering in the wilderness with NO support....sounds fun to nut jobs like me....

Carney, I have been considering that race as well. I am only about 20 percent right now, but it sure would be a "grand" time wouldn't it!

Grand loop is like 300 miles. GDR is like 2500 miles. From those that have done both...say that the Grand Loop is a death march. Personally, from talking with Dave Harris about it.....scares the shit outta me!

His story...

yeah, I've read up on a few peoples experiences and if Dave Harris says it's a death march, then I would just hope to live through it and finish in under a week!!

Somehow I still think its a good idea?? I may have a problem!

Do it...at least for our sadistic pleasure.

I'd rather do the GDR (in my radar)...sshh.
