Double whammy

Saturday - Kokopelli Trail.
Sunday - White Rim.
I'm tired.....really tired...

Last minute gear check for KT after a few hours of car sleep on Friday.

Dawn on KT outside of Loma

Things went well until Dewy Bridge, after that the roads were FRESHLY graded (couldn't of been more than a few days ago) making all but downhill riding impossible and frustrating. Lots of walking, sand surfing, and pushing! Then my GPS died, my maps got ejected out the pocket in my pack at some point, my watch died so I had no sense of time, and my main lights died (due to my slowed pace, they ran out of battery) leaving me with only my backup Tikka LED. Things were interesting being that it was my first time on the route with the exception of Marys Loop and Sand Flats Rd. Descending from the LaSal Loop Rd to Sand Flats with a 25 lumen led was an experience to say the least....lots of guessing! Anyway, it ended up being way more of an epic day than I was planning but that's just how it goes sometimes.

5 hours of sleep later, Dave and I headed up to Canyonlans to ride White Rim. It was his first century of any kind and we had it all... rain, sun, clouds, beautiful views, heat, cold, stars, and good good ridin'.

256 miles...I'm beat!
Is it ski season yet?
