Easily spun

Headed out today to get a few hours of easy spinning in on the foothills trails with a few long tempo efforts thrown in to keep the legs happy. I also wanted to dial in my race steed for this weekends jaunt to New Mexico. From everything I've seen about the course, it should be super fast and smooth so I've opted to use my HT which is a mostly stock '06 Specialized Stumpy. I've been exclusively riding my FS and road bike the last 2 months and I forgot how much I love the HT. Ridiculously fast and responsive compared to my slacker FS. Everything worked great and I'm pumped to rock it this weekend!

My only complaint with the bike is I need scrounge around and find a wider bar because the current one is super narrow and I don't get much torque when standing or cranking hard uphill. The narrow bar rocks though on the smooth stuff, just not quite enough pull when I need it.

Don't know what's on the radar after this weekend for awhile. I can't fork out the entry fee to some of the more expensive races around. So for now I'll be staying local and hitting up the New Belgium short track race series here in town, which run weekly from April 22 to May 27. I've only raced one short track race before so it should be a good burn!!

Not sure how I found your blog...really doesn't matter. Anyway, I'm live in FC...up by the mountain park. My wife and I are traveling down to NM for Dawn till Dusk. I ride a Black Sheep 29er single speed...will be solo. Maybe we'll run into each other.
