Single Speed Rollin

Today I got out of class and headed right outside to take advantage of the nice weather - one of the benefits of being in school is I can just say....hmm it's nice out....I'm goin out!! Might as well do it now, I can't live like this for much longer. I headed out for a 3 hour ride on the single speed because I knew I would be too lazy to clean up a bike when I was done. I hit up the bike paths and gravel north of good ole Ames. Some parts were super muddy and others were fine. All in all it turned out to be a sweet ride.

I was to cheap to buy shoe covers until Tam got a pair for me for the Moab 24 last fall, They are 10 times better than the cram as many socks as you can fit in your shoe then cover in duct tape method!!

My non symmetrical gloveage to fit over my thumb brace

In other news I had my cast removed yesterday, along with the pin. There is no better way to start the morning than having a 30 year old doctor whip out a pliers, put his knee on the table, and go to town on a pit sticking out of the side of your thumb!! I now have a brace that I am supposed to wear, it is really annoying and besides I need to work on my mobility so I’ll see how long the brace sticks around.

Also, I ran into a good buddy of mine today, Paul K. He spent the summer racing in Belgium for the U23 development team. I haven’t ridden with him in a while but once my thumb heals up I'll be looking him up for some good road rides. He is pretty fast and I will prolly be removing my tongue from his rear wheel after the rides!

That’s all folks....Peace Out

Nice work on the gloves. Whatever it takes to get out and ride.
